Meet Irenia, our virtual keeper
At Zoo we have a very special new keeper, so much so that you could say she's the bee's knees! She is Irenia, the virtual clone of Irene, a marine mammal keeper that we have created using artificial intelligence (AI) and the most advanced technology on the market.
Irenia has been created to answer visitors' questions through a touch screen and microphone. She is able to understand the public and respond immediately like an expert virtual keeper!
Currently, she is a prototype specialised in the giant panda bear, but her skills go far beyond that. She uses videos and infographics to illustrate its answers and fully connect with our visitors, it can also tell jokes, give tips on where to eat, what to see and even tell you the nearest restroom. Both in Spanish and English, although it will soon support many more languages. Are you coming to discover it?
How do you talk with Irenia?
You can use your voice, as if you were talking to a real human! You can also use the touch screen, it's very easy!

In the near future, Irenia will have the ability to adapt its responses: she will be able to identify whether it is interacting with an adult, a child or a person with special needs, offering a fully personalised experience for each visitor.
