Meet the Chimpanzee!

Of the existing great apes, the chimpanzee is the one that most resembles the human being. With an almost human face, it is a mammal that communicates with its fellows very easily, having up to 30 different kinds of vocalizations.

Slender, its arms are longer than its legs. Black fur, absent on the face, top of the head and ears.

In danger of extinction, it is currently only found in the jungles of West Africa.

What are its habits?

It is a gregarious animal, organized in free groups that are integrated into a community. The composition of these groups is very variable: mixed, formed by adults and juveniles or homogeneous, males or females.

Spulging is a social ritual that fosters friendship between individuals. Social relationships in these animals are very important for learning behaviors from their peers.

The calf is born at an early stage of development and needs the mother to survive. It feeds from her and travels on her back. She is its great ally, from whom it learns through play.
